Detailed Itinerary


Day 1: Full day sightseeing in Delhi.

Jama Masjid Delhi TourWe pick you up from the location of your choice in New Delhi at 9 a.m. in the morning, for a tour of Old Delhi. The former capital of the powerful rulers of the Mughal dynasty, it boasts of a plethora of impressive monuments. We begin with a visit to the massive Red Fort built by Shah Jahan in 1648 A.D., then explore the fascinating, colorful Chandni Chowk market by cycle-rickshaw and arrive at Jama Masjid. Believed to be the largest mosque in India, this imposing monument offers a bird’s eye view of Delhi from the top of its 40m high minarets. It was the last of Shah Jahan’s magnificent architectural constructions (1658 A.D.).

Drive past Safdarjang’s tomb, to visit the highest stone tower in India, the Qutab Minar, begun in 1199 A.D. by Qutab-ud-din Aibak; the Iron Pillar, a metallurgical marvel which has not rusted in over 1500 years and the imposing Tomb of Humayun. Considered to be the precursor of the Taj Mahal, it is the earliest example of Mughal architecture in India.

On your way back to your hotel, you will drive through New Delhi, which came into existence much later and is also known as Lutyens’ Delhi. Named after Edwin Lutyens, the British architect who was largely responsible for designing the India Gate (memorial to the martyrs of World War I), Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential House), the Secretariat, the Parliament House and many other government buildings.

Day 2: Delhi – Agra.

Taj Mahal TourCheck out from your hotel in Delhi for the drive to Agra. The journey will take approximately four hours, hence an 8 a.m. morning start is recommended.

After arriving at Agra, check into your hotel.

In the afternoon begin your discovery of the historic city of Agra with a visit to the impressive red sandstone Agra Fort built by Akbar – the most illustrious ruler of the Mughal dynasty - in 1565 A.D. It was subsequently embellished with beautiful palaces, mosque and gardens by his successors. Replete with priceless examples of craftsmanship from the Mughal era, these include the exquisite Moti Masjid or Pearl Mosque, the Diwan-i-Khas, the Diwan-i-Am, Jahangir Mahal and Shish Mahal.

Visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, a pristine white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife – Mumtaz Mahal. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, it took 20,000 workers from neighboring Islamic countries, 22 years of ceaseless toil to create this exquisite white marble monument upon which peopled have waxed eloquent throughout the world. Experience a splendid sunset viewing of the Taj Mahal and then return to your hotel.

Day 3: Agra - Jaipur

Leisure TourCheck out of the hotel after breakfast and commence your journey to Jaipur, approximately a five hour drive. En route break journey at Fatehpur Sikri. Constructed by Akbar between 1570 -1585 A.D., this red sandstone city houses many impressive architectural monuments. Most remarkable among these are the towering Buland Darwaza, the exquisite marble tomb of Salim Chishti (the Muslim mystic who gave his blessings to Emperor Akbar for a son), Panch Mahal, Jodha Bai’s Palace, Birbal Bhavan and the unique checkered Pachisi Court.

After you complete your sightseeing, resume the drive to Jaipur. Arrive in Jaipur and check into your hotel.

Day 4: Jaipur

Jaipur TourIn the morning embark on an exploratory tour of the fascinating "Pink City” of Jaipur and its many interesting sights. These include the magnificent City Palace complex with its many museums containing an impressive collection of miniature paintings, costumes and armory; the unique Jantar Mantar (Observatory) built by the astronomer king, Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1728 A.D.; the Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Wind with its intriguing façade, built in 1799 A.D. to allow ladies from the royal family to view the city and the bazaar below in complete privacy, and much more.

Afternoon is free for relaxing or shopping. Jaipur is great for purchases of jewelry, Blue Pottery and colorful fabrics.

Day 5: Jaipur - Pushkar

Amberfort TourCheck out of your hotel after an early breakfast, for the drive to Pushkar. En route visit the majestic Amber Fort and Palace, originally constructed by Raja Mansingh and one of the finest examples of Rajput architecture. Enjoy the unique experience of an ascent on the back of a brightly caparisoned elephant, up to the Fort. Visit the elaborately designed and decorated chambers and hallways of the Palace, which are justly famous for their beauty.

Resume your journey to Pushkar. The drive will take approximate three hours. On arrival at Pushkar, check into the Luxury tent or cottage.

PUSHKAR - Amongst the grandeur of Rajasthan, discover a unique gem - Pushkar. Lord Brahma - The creator of the world in a search for his abode on earth, performed the supremely spiritual VEDIC YAGNA at Pushkar. It is thus the site of the only Brahma Temple in the world. Blessed with cultural blends, it is the venue for the famous Pushkar Fair, with people coming from all over Asia to buy and sell cattle of breeds from across the world. A city of Pilgrimage from time immemorial with over 500 temples and Ghats Pushkar begets a legacy of timeless architectural heritage. Pushkar radiates an ambience of peace and spirituality that casts a lure to visit again and again. The Pushkar fair is amongst the largest cattle fairs in the world and amongst the oldest cities in India, with references in mythology and the Mahabharat. There are 52 bathing Ghats, which are linked to the lunar calendar, enclose the lake. Each Ghat has its own miraculous qualities and powers of healing and this city of temples has over 500 temples built over different eras with varied architectural styles. The rose garden of Rajasthan - the essence of the famous Pushkar rose is exported the world over.

Spend the enjoying in PUSHKAR FAIR and in the evening visiting many temples & Ghats, where pilgrims bathe in the sacred waters of the lake and the local market.

Each evening there will be a performance of Rajasthani dance, cultural show and bonfire during which soft beverages and snacks are served.

Day 6: Pushkar

After relishing a Rajasthani cuisine, enjoy the various activities at Pushkar Camel Fair festival and enjoy a camel safari or camel cart ride with LTCI Tour Guide enjoying the wonder and incredible photographic opportunities, or spend a quiet morning walk.

In the afternoon, tour the camp grounds to experience the cattle trading, camel races, as well as various shows and competitions etc. activity.

Day 7: Pushkar – Delhi

Spend the morning visiting BRAHMA TEMPLE and the Pushkar Fair.

After lunch drive down from Pushkar to Ajmer. The journey would take around one hour. At Ajmer railway station, board the Luxury Express Train to Delhi.

Arrive at Delhi and you are greeted at the railway station, by your personal driver and he will drop you at the location of your choice.
