Rohetharh


Rajasthan is the land of Maharajas and their nobles, of blood and gore and of the legends surrounding these dashing men. However, the Rajputs along with being brave warriors, also liked to live in style and with a dash of splendour. This is reflected in their royal residences and havelis, and all of Rajasthan is full of these magnificent buildings which reflect the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the state. The Pali district too has one of them at Rohetgarh which is reasonably well maintained, given the hot and dusty climate. The heritage resort at Rohetgarh houses some of the finest Persian carpets you can see anywhere in Rajasthan, as well as some dazzling chandeliers dangling from high ceilings.

Rohetgarh at Rajasthan, India was known to be the dessert home of the descendants of the 16th century Rathores of the Champawat clan.

The Maharaja of Jodhpur bestowed the Jagir of Rohetgarh to Thakur Dalpat Singh in 1622 AD to appreciate his valor in various battles. The fort of Rohetgarh is now converted to a heritage hotel and the guests can actually feel the warmth of polite Rajput hospitality there.

To its visitors, Rohetgarh brings a range of horse safaris, jeep safaris and bird watching tours. These safaris provide an opportunity to ride splendidly and look around at the town with a much closer look. You can also ride on the well-bred horses and have a look at the Bishnoi village that provides you an insight of the life in the rural area of the state. This fort is about 30 km from Pali Rohetgarh located 30 Km from Pali, this 16th century Champawat fort has been renovated & converted into a premium heritage hotel.

It houses some of the finest Persian carpets as well as some dazzling chandeliers dangling from ceilings, with the interiors having an impeccable collection of local arms, paintings & other hunting trophies.
